Overview:
The presentation will illustrate critical aspects of high performance buildings and super-insulated, airtight enclosures with regards to condensation, thermal comfort, resiliency, and durability. Common project issues will be addressed including moisture control and air sealing, thermal bridging, and thermal discomfort. Samples from design simulations as well as data collected from built projects will be used to provide feedback on current state of Building Code, and the professional liability associated with higher relative humidity conditions inside airtight buildings.
